Stryker & Company completed the exterior rehabilitation of the Historic Montrose Potato Growers Building, a landmark structure central to Montrose’s agricultural and commercial history. The scope included stabilization and reconstruction of the west deck, construction of a new south deck, reconstruction of the east deck, and steel reinforcement at existing door openings, along with restoration of original windows and barn doors, reconstruction of wood storefront assemblies, masonry repairs, and repainting of the building’s iconic mural.
What Made This Project Different
- Rebuilt three decks (west, south, and east) to modern safety and durability standards while preserving the building’s original character
- Restored original windows, barn doors, and wood storefront assemblies rather than replacing them
- Repainted the building’s iconic mural, preserving a recognizable piece of the Montrose streetscape
