Stryker & Company completed a $14 million restoration and modernization of the Montrose County Historic Courthouse, a landmark building constructed in 1922 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The 31,260 square foot, 22-month design-build project balanced preservation of the courthouse’s historic character with modern, efficient public facilities, and included a new tile roof, structural steel and masonry upgrades, a new elevator and egress stairs, new utilities, a full interior renovation, two new parking lots, and new landscaping. During construction, the crew located and carefully unearthed a time capsule placed in the building more than 100 years earlier, opened publicly on November 7, 2024.
